Questions
Frequently asked questions
The answers below come from our published booking terms. If something is not covered here, ask us — we would rather tell you than have you guess.
Booking
- How do I confirm a booking?
- A 50% deposit confirms your booking. The balance is due at least two days before your tour date. Send us your request through this site and our reservations team will reply with availability and payment instructions.
- Is my booking confirmed as soon as I submit the form?
- No. Submitting the form creates a booking request and gives you a reference number. Your booking is confirmed only after our team has checked availability and verified your payment — you will receive a written confirmation by email at that point.
- Can I book an island-hopping joiner on my own, or as a couple?
- Yes. Joiners are sold by the seat, so you can book one or two without needing a group of your own. We pool you with other travellers on the same date, and the boat sails once ten seats are taken. If your date does not fill, we will offer you another date or a full refund — we will not leave you waiting at the port. If you would rather not depend on a boat filling, book a private charter instead: the boat is yours and it sails on the date you choose.
- What happens if my group is below the minimum number of guests?
- Island-hopping joiners have no minimum to book — buy a single seat and we pool you with other travellers; the boat sails once ten seats are taken, and if your date does not fill you may move to another date or take a full refund. Sunset combos and land tours do have a published minimum: below it you may book the shuttle on its own at ₱1,500 round trip for one to six guests, move to another date, or take a full refund.
- Can I rebook a private charter?
- Rebooking a private charter is permitted up to seven days before the tour date, subject to a 15% rebooking fee, and the credit is valid for one year.
Payments
- What payment methods do you accept?
- Cash, GCash and bank transfer. Settlement is completed on the same day, before guests depart. Our current account details are shown on your booking page once your request has been reviewed.
- Are deposits refundable?
- Deposits are non-refundable, but your slot is transferable to another person.
- Are there any surcharges?
- A ₱300 surcharge applies to any return transfer departing after 10:00 PM.
Meeting points
- Where do tours start?
- Sunset combos and land packages are picked up from San Jose Port or from your accommodation in San Jose. All island-hopping departures meet at Don Ruben Port — the exact meeting point for your tour is shown on its page and repeated in your confirmation.
Weather & safety
- What happens if the weather turns?
- Sea legs operate only with Philippine Coast Guard clearance. If sailing is suspended, guests are offered a transfer to the inland heritage circuit, a reschedule, or a refund of the sea portion. The inland heritage circuit and all sunset combos operate in all but severe weather.
- Can the itinerary change on the day?
- Yes. We reserve the right to adjust the itinerary for weather, sea conditions, road conditions, or guest safety. Your guide will explain any change before it happens.
On the day
- What should I bring?
- A light jacket — the mountain peak cools quickly after sundown. Comfortable walking shoes for the viewing decks. Sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. A camera. Valid ID, plus senior citizen or PWD identification where applicable. For island-hopping legs, add swimwear, a towel and a dry bag.
- Are my phone and camera safe on the boat?
- Protect phones and cameras from water on the sea legs. Laaganan Travel & Tours is not liable for damage to personal gadgets.
Children & discounts
- How are children priced?
- Children aged 5 to 10 years pay 50% of the adult rate. Children below 5 travel free, without a separate seat or set meal. Senior citizen and PWD discounts are applied per Philippine law on the applicable portions.
Accessibility
- Are your tours wheelchair accessible?
- The viewing decks involve short walks on uneven ground and are not wheelchair accessible. Please tell us in advance about any medical condition, mobility limitation, or pregnancy so we can advise honestly on what will and will not work for you.
Custom tours
- Can you build an itinerary around us?
- Yes — that is a large part of what we do. Tell us your dates, your party, your interests and your budget through the Plan My Trip form and we will come back with a proposed itinerary and a quotation.
