Privacy policy

What personal information we collect when you book or contact us, why we hold it, and how long we keep it.

Awaiting legal review

This page is a drafting template. It has not been reviewed by a qualified adviser, does not constitute legal advice, and must not be relied on as a final statement of our obligations or yours. Please ask us about anything that affects your booking.

Who we are

Laaganan Travel & Tours operates this website and the booking service on it, from San Jose, Dinagat Islands, Philippines. Our contact details are on the contact page.

What we collect

When you send a booking request, we collect: your name, email address, contact number, country or city, party size, travel dates, pickup or accommodation details, and anything you choose to tell us about accessibility needs, dietary requirements, emergency contacts or special requests.

When you submit payment details, we collect: the payment method, the amount you say you sent, your transaction reference, and — if you choose to attach one — a screenshot or receipt.

When you contact us or request a custom trip, we collect the details you enter on that form.

Automatically, we record a one-way keyed digest of your IP address for the purpose of rate limiting and abuse prevention. This cannot be reversed to recover your IP address.

What we do not collect

We do not ask for, store, or process card numbers, bank login credentials, or government identification numbers through this website.

Why we hold it

  • To check availability and reply to your request.
  • To operate the tour you booked, including safety and dietary planning.
  • To verify payment before confirming a booking.
  • To meet our record-keeping obligations.

Payment proofs

Any screenshot or receipt you upload is stored privately, outside the public website, and is readable only by staff members whose role permits reviewing payments. It is never served from a public URL. We delete payment proofs once the booking is closed and the retention period below has passed.

How long we keep it

  • Booking records: retained while the booking is live and afterwards for the period required for accounting and tax records.
  • Payment proofs: deleted once the booking is completed or cancelled and any dispute window has passed.
  • Contact and custom trip enquiries: deleted when they are no longer needed to answer you.
  • Rate-limiting records: deleted automatically within 24 hours.

Who we share it with

We share only what is necessary to run your tour — for example, giving a boat operator the guest manifest required before departure. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising.

Analytics

This site does not load third-party analytics or advertising scripts by default. If analytics is enabled in future, it will be consent-based, and no personal traveller or payment information will ever be sent to it.

Cookies

We use a single cookie, and only for staff signed into the admin area. It is strictly necessary for that sign-in to work. Public visitors are not given tracking cookies, which is why this site shows no cookie banner.

Your rights

You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Contact us using the details on the contact page and quote your booking reference if you have one.
