Cagdianao

Sayaw Beach

A long, undeveloped sand spit backed by coconut palms, looking across the channel to the Cagdianao ridges.

The curving white sand spit at Sayaw Beach, water banding from turquoise to deep blue, with the green ridges of the Cagdianao mainland across the channel

Sayaw is a low sand spit rather than a destination with anything built on it. The beach runs long and curved, the sand fine and pale, and behind it sits a band of coconut palms and low green scrub — no cottages, no kiosk, no shade but the trees.

The water reads in bands: clear over the sand, turquoise across the reef flat, then deep blue where the reef edge drops away. On a calm day you can pick out the line of white where the swell breaks over it. Across the channel the green ridges of the Cagdianao mainland fill the horizon.

Come prepared for a beach with no facilities. That is also the reason to come.

How to get there
Reached on a Cagdianao day tour, paired with Hinabyan Beach — the two sit close together and roughly on the way from Cagdianao proper, so a single day covers both. This route is run by our accredited guides but is not yet published as a fixed-price package. Tell us your dates and party size and we will quote it.

Visitor reminders

No facilities on the beach: bring water, food, sun cover and anything else you will want, and take your rubbish back out with you. Cagdianao is at the southern end of the province, a longer run from San Jose than the Libjo and Basilisa routes. Reached by boat as part of an island-hopping route. Sailing requires Philippine Coast Guard clearance; if it is suspended we move you to the inland circuit, reschedule, or refund the sea portion.
